Morris was born the summer of 2004 (approx) & still has no signs of disease. He seems to be keeping it in Stage 1. His coat is thick so he's very fluffy & soft. He's extremely polite & well mannered. He was brought to me by a neighbor after being bitten by a Pit Bull. His ear looked like a balloon & he required expensive surgery, but he recovered quickly. I tried to work with the neighbor, but they had no intention of keeping him inside or ever getting him any kind of veterinary treatment. He's living in my spare bedroom. It’s not a very nice place to live, especially because he’s alone virtually 24 hours every day. But I can’t keep him anywhere else because I have healthy cats of my own. Sometimes I’ll bring him downstairs, but of course I have to keep him strictly on my lap. He has no problem sitting there for an hour, just to enjoy the company. If kept inside & fed a healthy diet, he has a great chance of being a great companion for many years. I’ve placed two FeLV cats in the past, both of who are still as healthy as ever after several years.
A while back, I got Morris a friend. His first buddy was Whiskey, a sweet orange tabby, but unfortunately, his disease progressed quickly & he didn't last very long. After Whiskey passed, I adopted a soft little white fur ball from CCC, named Bodacious. She lasted only a couple of months. Now that he's alone again, I'm going to keep him that way for a little while so I can try to find him a home. He's such a great catch for the right person.
